Understanding the Ecotech Process

The Ecotech Process is the result of over 10 years and millions of dollars in research, development and testing. Using the patented EcoVeyor flow processor, turbulent air is shaped by the proprietary mixing chamber into an organized airflow, reducing turbulence and cushioning the pipe resulting in minimal pressure loss, less product attrition, less pipe line wear, lower energy costs and lower maintenance down-time.

The EcoVeyor is simple and cost effective to install, operate and maintain. Ecotech offers its customers:

  • turnkey systems designed to meet their needs
  • retrofits of existing pneumatic conveying systems
  • the EcoVeyor processor as a stand-alone product

The addition of the EcoVeyor to an existing air system provides an immediate efficiency gain in the operation, with modest new capital investment.

Once installed, the EcoVeyor will reduce costs by increasing longevity of system components through lower line and component wear as well as increased product yields through lower product attrition rates.

Studies

Stone & Webster Engineering Corporation prepared an evaluation of the Ecotech technology and substantiated its benefits. The engineering study confirmed the following system attributes:

  • Organized flow
  • Low energy and pressure flow
  • Minimal pipe wear
  • Low product attrition
  • Non-thermal drying of surface moisture
  • Separation of product by mass
  • Low maintenance
  • Ability to convey over long distances and through high-angles, inlcuding vertical elevations

Texas A&M University and the Rocky Mountain Oilfield Testing Center (RMOTC) have both evaluated the Ecotech Process for oil and natural gas production and transportation applications. Another presentation was made to the Society of Petroleum Engineering Meeting (SPE 84136) describing the EcoVeyor technology for oil and gas production markets. These studies concur on the above benefits.

The EcoVeyor technology is the subject of several issued U.S. patents:

  • 6,155,751 was awarded on December 5, 2000
  • 6,659,118 was awarded on December 9, 2003
  • 6,749,374 was awarded on June 15, 2004
  • 7,066,207 was awarded on June 27, 2006
  • 7,082,955 was awarded on August 1, 2006
  • 7,160,024 was awarded on January 9, 2007

There are additional pending U.S. and International patents, including those in Australia, Canada, Europe, and Mexico. New innovative designs are being developed and prototypes are being tested in oil and gas market as well as in solids conveying markets. Research and development remains a cornerstone of Ecotech's overall operational plans.
